Wonderful website. It's unfortunate I cannot attend your talks since I'm at the opposite end of the country from you. I am so glad you are keeping alive the memories of Jewish communities in Muslim lands. I have cousins who lived in Cairo until the Six-Day War of 1967. Of course, this was followed by brutal internment and, ultimately, expulsion. The family came to the US where the grown children and grandchildren now reside. Other family reside in Israel. The story of the Jewish communities in Arab and non-Arab Muslim countries really needs to be told.

Right on Roger. I am full of outrage. I agree with everything said here, except the
so-called bailout. The individuals who lost 80% of their retirement investments
are not being bailed out, only the institutions that caused it. The leaders of greed
and corruption of the Bush administration and Congress,are being bailed out and rewarded.
The president of Lehman was allowed to walk away with $500,000,000, while sending the
company into bankruptcy. I could go on for hours.
As to appeasing the Jihadist Muslims, I have been lecturing for 3 years against it, but no
one is willing to listen about "The Peaceful Religion". Their agenda is to Islamize the world.
Appeasing Iran will not work, either. But no one is willing to meet this threat to world peace.
Israel is in mortal danger, weather it acts to defend itself or not. If another Holocaust
is forced upon the Jewish People I can assure you it will not go quietly as in WWII.
We will bring the house down with millions of Arabs. What's more, there would be no
oil wells left for America and the West to sustain their economies.
Yes, we have lost our moral compass and embraced extreme Liberalism, in the name
of Democracy. The decline of this Empire is imminent. We are no longer a beacon of
hope for the world. We have sold our souls to the not-so-mighty Dollar, and are unwilling
to defend what's left of our great country.

Heard you on the Joey Reynolds Show. I hope you can go back there without that moron Shannon Taylor who needs a muzzle.
I agree with you that the Bush-designed occupation of Iraq has been a disaster and a tragedy for its people. Their only crime has been that they live on a "sea of oil" to use Wolfowitz's term.
Of course we are there for the oil, but I think that this administration is not as stupid as it would appear. The decision to disband the army, like the decision NOT to guard the al Qaqaa munitions dump with its 380 metric tons of RDX, were INTENTIONAL. I agree with you that there will be American boots on the ground for 50 years, but I think that Bush planned it that way. In other words, he intentionally won the war but lost the peace so that we would have to keep our troops there forever.
I wish it were not so.

Your book is very inspiring and educational. I see many parallels with my life and I am grateful for having been through difficult times in my life. It has taught me to view life in a different way from most people.
In fact, most people live as if they will never die, and die as if they had never lived. They lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health. Like many things in life, the best things are free but we do not appreciate what we have until we do not have it.
When you were born in Bagdad, you were crying and everyone around you were smiling. You have definately lived your life so that when you die, you are the one smiling and everyone around you is crying.
I am lucky to have made the acquaintance with you this summer. Take care and all the best to you and Rachelle.
