Comments: My wife and I like Saul's book "Full Circle." It is not flowery. Few big words to obfuscate meaning. It is a true story...the telling of a life journey in easy-to-digest sequential order (no mystery men in cloaks, no circuitous flashbacks, etc.). Thank you, Saul, for sharing your story.
People must be empathetic to the deepest chasms of human experience as well as to the triumphs of human will. Some people lead charmed lives and just don't see beyond their own selfish needs. I am sometimes guilty of this. Saying I don't have enough resources to help the poor and victimized is no longer an excuse. I will strive to be vocal about forbearance and justice. My music can be a vehicle for mutual respect. My songs are pebbles in the ocean, but that should not discourage their casting.
I live in Minnesota, U.S.A. Prior to discovering this web site, I made a connection with Yeman, a 14-year-old Iraqi musician who recently fled with his family from Baghdad. We worked on a song together called "My Town." In an effort to learn more about Iraq's rich history (to help us develop the song lyrics), I made a fortuitous connection with Saul Silas Fathi, a man of vast experience in matters of family, survival, industry, citizenship and hope. There is a common thread in Yeman's story and Saul's story, just as there is a bittersweetness that my own mother (95 years old) tells me about leaving her town in Lebanon when she was 10 years old – traveling across a vast ocean to settle in Minnesota. She was impoverished by World War I as a child in Aslout.
I am also reading Saul's "History of the Jews and Israel." Concise and informative. This is a good thing for me to read as a Christian who wants to understand what has gone before. History need not dictate how I interact now with my Jewish and Muslim brothers in the Middle East. I feel an openness here -- a new chapter to be written in the Book of Understanding.
I pray for healing, mutual prosperity and spiritual growth. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God and God in him.

Comments: I am very impressed with Your Guestbook. Congratulation. May your life reward you and your family for all the difficult times. I thought about your children and the Journey they had to make from Baghdad on their own. I do not think they will just be ordinary "Joes". This experience of theirs will beare onderful fruit. Again my best to you and family. Lena Adler

Comments: Hello Saul,
It was a delight to have you as a guest on my show. Your book 'Full Circle' give a dramatic, descriptive and compassionate insight to circumstances of a particular time frame in history that have contributed to the on-going challenges of today.
We stand on the shoulders of those who have walked paths of experience before us. Sadly, we don't always give the attention we should to repeating patterns of war and discord.
Your book brings a light of understanding and perspective that enables the reader to see into a different culture and time, both good and bad.
Keep up the vigil to inform and educate. It is only through the tools of communication that we have a chance to make the changes needed.
Sincerely, Donna Seebo - Host of the daily live broadcast 'The Donna Seebo Show', heard around the world on www.bbsradio.com, 3-4pm, Pacific Time.
